Kerrang! Feature: Iron Maiden

Iron Maiden: Back in Time, Back on Tour
The Gods of British Metal take another trip back to the 80’s with their latest tour set to mirror the iconic 1988 Maiden England concert video.
Just six months after wrapping up the Final Frontier World Tour at London’s 02 arena, heavy metal masters Iron Maiden announce they will be hitting the road once more this summer with the final chapter of their history tour trilogy.
Following on from the success of the Early Days Tour (2002) and the monstrously successful, Brit award winning Somewhere Back in Time tour (2008) the band now plan to tale fans back to 1988 with a stage show mimicking that of the so called “Seventh Tour of a Seventh Tour” originally in support of the bands seventh studio album, Seventh son of a Seventh Son. As with the Somewhere Back in Time Tour the set list will reflect that of the original, with a few added “surprises” thrown in, supposedly included some tracks from the era they know the fans want to hear live, Alexander the Great, anyone?
“We have great fun playing the History tours...” Says Front man Bruce Dickinson “It’s fantastic seeing the crowd reaction from a generation of fans who have never experienced these tracks played live before. [The set list] includes some songs we have not played live for a very, very long time, plus some other favourites we just know fans are going to want to hear!”
As in 1988 the guys are kicking off with an extensive tour of North America, with 32 dates already planned for this summer, before returning to Europe and the rest of the world early next year.
